These terms apply to your use of the Readback app, website, and related services. By using Readback, you agree to these terms.
Readback is a training aid
Readback provides practice scenarios and feedback for learning purposes. It is not an aviation authority, flight instructor, air traffic service, operational briefing service, or source of current flight information. It does not provide flight instruction, certification, clearance, or safety-critical advice.
Do not rely on Readback during flight or for operational decision-making. Always use current official publications, charts, procedures, notices, frequencies, and instructions from the relevant national Civil Aviation Authority, air traffic services, and your qualified instructor. If Readback differs from an official or instructor-approved source, follow that source.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age at which you can agree to these terms on your own where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you.
You must provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
Readback Plus purchases
Readback Plus is offered as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It does not automatically renew. The App Store shows the price and asks you to confirm before charging the payment method connected to your Apple Account. Apple processes the transaction, and its payment and refund terms apply.
Readback Plus access is linked to the Readback account signed in when the purchase is completed or restored. You can use the in-app restore option with the relevant App Store account. If you have trouble restoring access, contact support before buying again.
“Lifetime” means the purchase does not expire or require a recurring payment. It does not guarantee that Readback, every premium pack, or any particular feature will remain available indefinitely. Access remains subject to these terms, compatibility, and the continued availability of Readback and its services. Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Readback unlawfully or to endanger any person or aircraft;
- interfere with, probe, overload, or bypass security protecting the service;
- access another person’s account or data without permission;
- copy, scrape, redistribute, or commercially exploit the service except as permitted by law;
- misrepresent Readback content as official aviation guidance; or
- use automated systems to abuse support, feedback, or account services.
Your content and feedback
You keep ownership of information you submit. You give us permission to use support messages and feedback as needed to respond, diagnose issues, improve Readback, and correct training content. Please do not submit material you do not have the right to share.
Our content and intellectual property
Readback and its software, design, branding, lesson structure, and original content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Readback for its intended purpose.
References to third-party aviation materials or services do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Availability and changes
We may update, add, remove, or suspend features and content. We aim to keep Readback useful and available, but we do not promise uninterrupted access or that every error will be corrected immediately. Content packs and app updates may be required to continue using some features.
Account suspension and deletion
You can delete your account in the app. Account deletion permanently removes the account and its cloud progress, in-app feedback, and Readback entitlement record. It does not itself cancel or refund an App Store transaction, and it may affect your ability to use or restore Readback Plus. Contact support before deleting a purchased account if you want help preserving or restoring access.
We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, create a security risk, or misuse the service. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.
Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Readback is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or suitable for a particular flight, training programme, examination, or operational situation.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of or inability to use Readback. You remain responsible for all aviation, training, and operational decisions.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Readback changes. We will publish updated terms here with a new effective date. If a material change affects existing users, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
